General
Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax planning is provided for individuals
with particular expertise in Inheritance Tax planning, both through
wills and through lifetime settlements and gifts.
Wealthy individuals are advised and we also have techniques for
the not so wealthy to take advantage of Inheritance Tax exemptions
through discretionary trusts and the family home. We have extensive
experience of advising Lloyd's Underwriters and owners of other
property such as copyrights or other intellectual property.
Emigration and Immigration
Tax advice is given to individuals who are considering emigrating.
Advice is also given on the many tax benefits available to these
people who are not UK domiciled but who are currently living or
wish to settle in the UK for tax purposes.
Family Companies
We can advise directors and shareholders of family companies on
how best to pass their family company down to their children and
how companies should be structured to maximise reliefs.
Agriculture
Farmers and other owners of agricultural land are advised on how
best to utilise the reliefs, which are available. The structure
of partnerships and occupation of agricultural land can be tackled
with particular reference to the new farm business tenancy and its
effect on inheritance tax. Milk and other quotas are becoming an
increasingly important asset on which we are able to advise.
National Heritage Property
Advice can be given on the reliefs available for Inheritance Tax
purposes for National Heritage property and maintenance trusts.
