David Bishop & Co is a niche legal practice, specialising in Wills Tax and Trusts and allied areas of law located in Formby, near Liverpool in the North West of England.

The practice was formed by David Bishop on breaking away from a large national firm of Solicitors to concentrate of giving specialist advice to individuals and private companies, not only in the North of England, where the practice is based, but also nationally and internationally.

David Bishop has been involved in tax planning for these types of client for over 30 years and his particular speciality is the use of family trusts for the preservation of wealth. He advises clients of substantial wealth, not only of United Kingdom, but also of Continental and U.S. origin.

He is accustomed to tailoring solutions to cross-border situations. Being U.K. based he is in a particularly advantageous position to advise people of non-UK origin on the significant tax concessions available if they become U.K. resident.

He is also familiar with the offshore trust regime for U.K. resident clients.

David Bishop is a founder member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a member of the International Tax Planning Association (ITPA) and is an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.

He is co-author of "Cohabitation - Law, Practice and Precedents" and so also advises on the property rights of cohabitees.
